Model EBA - Averaging Biaxial Extensometer

Ideal for testing advanced composites and other anisotropic (directionally dependent) materials.  Also commonly used for general purpose tests and measuring Poisson's ratio.

Our model EBA - averaging biaxial extensometer is built around our new, single-body module design.  This innovative design provides a very stiff module body which results in improved performance and ruggedness over existing units.  To keep our extensometers as light as possible, even the module cover is used as an integral stressed member.  A lighter extensometer requires less attachment force and will have a lower influence on your test sample.

Model EBA is also designed to be lighter and more compact than competing models.  Its smaller size will allow you to more easily fit it into the tight confines of your environmental chamber.  To keep our extensometers as light as possible, even the module cover is used as an integral stressed member.  A lighter extensometer requires less attachment force and will have a lower influence on your test sample. Model EBA - Averaging Bi-Axial Extensometer

All model EBA extensometers feature a full, strain gauge bridge design and are compatible with most any brand test equipment.  This model can be set-up as a two channel unit with an averaged axial strain signal or it can be configured as a three channel unit with two independent axial strain signals.  For either option, we can install the proper connectors to interface to most any electronics including Instron, ADMET, and MTS.  If your test frame or set-up does not have the required strain signal conditioners, we can supply stand-alone electronics calibrated with your extensometer. This will allow you to use a chart recorder, digital display, or data acquisition card.

All standard models meet ASTM B-1 and ISO 9513, class 0,5 accuracy requirements.  Each extensometer comes with an inspection certificate traceable to NIST, a spare parts kit, a spare set of tool-steel knife edges, and a quality, foam lined, plastic case.

Standard models available in any combination of measuring range and temperature range listed below.   If you need an extensometer in a configuration other than what is listed, please contact us with you specific needs.
