Model ETVR  -   r-Value Extensometer

Specifically designed for measuring r-Value in sheet metal tests.   Model ETVR may also be used wherever two averaged, transverse strain readings are desired.

Our model ETVR -  r-value extensometer is built around our new, single-body module design. This innovative design provides a very stiff module body which results in improved performance and ruggedness over existing extensometers.  Even its module cover is used as a stressed member to lower the over-all weight.  Smaller and lighter than competing models; model ETVR attaches with lower contact force and its lower over-all weight is less likely to influence the specimen under test.
Model ETVR - r-Value Transverse Extensometer

Model ETVR is designed to measure the averaged, transverse strain at two locations on the test specimen.  Each module can move independently so that measurements are taken directly at the points where the extensometer was originally mounted on the specimen.  Model ETVR is also designed to allow the easy use of a 2 inch or 50 mm gauge length model EAS - Standard Axial Extensometer to simultaneously measure axial strain.  Model ETVR - r-Value Extensometer

All model ETVR extensometers feature a full, strain gauge bridge design and are compatible with most any brand test equipment.  We can install the proper connector to interface to most any electronics including Instron, ADMET, and MTS.  If your test frame or set-up does not have the required strain signal conditioner, we can supply stand-alone electronics calibrated with your extensometer. This will allow you to use a chart recorder, digital display, or data acquisition card.

All standard models meet ASTM B-1 and ISO 9513, class 0,5 accuracy requirements.  Each extensometer comes with an inspection certificate traceable to NIST, a spare parts kit, a spare set of tool-steel knife edges, and a quality, foam lined, plastic case.

Standard models available in any combination of measuring range and temperature range listed below.   If you need an extensometer in a configuration other than what is listed, please contact us with you specific needs.
