Model DG is our general purpose deflectometer / displacement gage. Commonly used for measuring deformation in three and four point bend tests, compression tests, and a variety of tests requiring general displacement measurement.

Similar to a machinist's test indicator, deflection is measured with spherical contact tip attached to a single, moveable arm. Featuring a full bridge strain gaged construction, model DG provides an electrical signal compatible with most test systems and any electronics designed for a strain gaged transducer.

Designed around our innovative and rugged crossed-flexure module, this displacement gage also features a spring loaded break-away arm to protect it from accidental damage. The contact point exerts a small spring force against the surface being measured sufficient for dynamic / cyclic testing, yet low enough to avoid undue influence on the specimen.

The standard configuration for the deflection gage is upright with the moveable arm measuring displacement in the downward direction. However, they can be configured to measure in any orientation. It may also be configured with the spring force applied in the opposite direction.

With a full bridge, 350 ohm, strain gaged design, model DG is compatible with most test systems and signal conditioning electronics design for strain gage based transducers. Reliant can provide stand-alone electronics to allow the use of data acquisition boards (DAQ), chart recorders or other test equipment.
