Description

Our model ETVR is designed to measure the averaged, transverse (lateral) strain at two locations on a sheet metal specimen. It is designed to be easily mounted and self supporting.

The extensometer is designed as two, ganged modules based on our rugged, parallel flexure design. Each module is free to move and remains located on specimen where they were mounted. The signal from each is combined to provide and averaged output signal.

Used for testing to ASTM E517 and ISO 10113, model ETVR can be simultaneously used with a 50 mm or 2.000" gauge length model EAG axial extensometer.

With a full bridge, 350 ohm, strain gaged design, model ETVR is compatible with most test systems and signal conditioning electronics design for strain gage based transducers. Reliant can provide stand-alone electronics to allow the use of data acquisition boards (DAQ), chart recorders or other test equipment.

Features
  • May be left on through specimen failure.
  • Full bridge strain gaged design to ensure compatibility with most any test system.
  • Designed to easily mount as a single unit to measure lateral (transverse) strain averaged over two locations.
  • Built-in mechanical over-travel stops provide protection in both directions.
  • Self supporting on the specimens.
  • Meets requirements for accuracy and a verification certificate is included with each unit.
  • Rugged, optimized, parallel flexure design for strength and improved performance.
  • Replaceable, tool steel, rounded knife edges.
  • High and low temperature options extend operation range from -270°C to +200 °C (-454 °F to +400 °F).
Options
  • Connectors to interface to nearly any brand of test equipment.
  • Stand alone signal conditioners for use with DAQ boards.
  • High-Toughness, and specialty knife edges.
